Jungle Bird
Jungle Bird
This half-century-old tiki drink brings together an unexpected combination of Hamilton rum, pineapple Juice, and Campari. The herbal, bittersweet backbone paired with a blend of exquisite rums, and fresh juice, give the jungle bird all of the right notes: sweet, bitter, tart, sour, and fruity.
The Jungle Bird first took flight in 1978 at the Aviary Bar inside the Kuala Lumpur Hilton. Originally served as a welcome drink, it stood out from other tiki cocktails with its bold inclusion of Campari—bringing a distinctive, bittersweet edge to the tropical mix. While its fame simmered quietly for decades, the cocktail was rediscovered by bartenders in the early 2000s and quickly gained cult status for its perfect balance of exotic fruit and Italian bitter. Today, the Jungle Bird is celebrated as a modern tiki staple—proof that a little daring can lead to something timeless.
